Residential Painting

Residential Painting

When you feel like your home needs a fresh coat of paint on the inside, you have two choices. You can either roll up your sleeves and get the rollers and brushes and left-over supplies out of the garage, or you can call Enrique’s Painting. We are professionals who take on residential painting jobs, and it’s our mission to create beautiful homes for all our customers. We have the tools for the job, and our contractors have the experience and tools to make it happen quickly without disrupting your life.

Take a look at these residential painting tips, provided to you by Enrique’s Painting and all the pro contractors who work for us.

Pick the Right Colors

Picking colors and palettes is obviously something that differs for each home and the people who live in it. You tend to pick the colors you like and want to see all the time, but that may not always be possible. You also have to factor in function, size and surroundings. For example, you may like blue. But a large room would look cozier in a dark blue hue, whereas a smaller room would look more spacious in a lighter hue of blue.

The exact color should also be one that matches the rest of the décor in that room. Not to mention the function of the room. Living rooms and dining rooms where you entertain guests look better in lighter shades, while your bedroom and bathroom can have colors that you like, regardless of whether it matches the rest of the home.

We at Enrique’s Painting know a lot more about what kind of colors look good in what place. We can show you how to make a home look beautiful and painted in a manner that makes you feel good and comfortable.

Pick the Right Paint

For starters, avoid all paints that contain VOCs (volatile organic compounds). Any paint that contains VOCs will release these toxic chemicals after the paint dries, creating a health hazard inside your own home. Secondly, residential painting works better when you use water-based enamels instead of oil-based gloss. The water enamels give out less of an odor, and wear well over time. Besides, they’re also easier to clean.

In any case, buy a sample size of paint first and try it out on a piece of cardboard or a small part of your wall first. See how it looks in different kinds of light – natural light during the day, and with interior lighting in the day, evening, and after dark.

Again, we’re good at this and know exactly how a particular shade and type of paint will look on your walls afterwards. When you call Enrique’s Painting for residential painting, we will paint a picture, so to speak, about how your home will look after we finish. Call us to find out how we can help you.
